The Keto Diet Plan – Lose Weight, Repair DNA and Increase Physical Strength

The ketogenic diet, which is usually called “Keto Diet”, is the diet that is mimicking fasting physiology. Before you try the keto diet, the first thing that you have to do is to cleanse your body with detox.

Once the body enters ketosis, it starts using fat for energy instead of glucose (the blood sugar).

The best way to achieve ketosis is through dieting, fasting or if you use exogenous ketones.

The only way to reliably verify whether your body is in ketosis is by measuring your glucose levels with a special device. If the device shows you 0.5 mmol of concentration, it means that your body is experiencing a light ketosis. However, there are many people that claim they have achieved a stronger mental clarity when they reached 1mmol or even higher.

Losing weight is not the only benefit from the keto diet, actually it’s the last thing on the list. If we dig deeper, the ketogenic diet has originally been developed to treat children with epilepsy and it proved to be very successful for the DNA repair and prevention of cancer.

Dr. Dominic D’Agostino, who is a professor in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and he is also a senior research scientist at the Institute for human and Machine Cognition (IHMC) has proved more than once that ketosis is able to strengthen and to provide the body with more energy, to mind the molecules, repair the DNA and also prevent dozens of diseases.

Dr. D’Agostino is constantly testing various different ketogenic diets and therapeutic fasts on himself and he recommends ketosis to be practiced for at least 3 times a year.

To show his colleagues that ketosis is actually able to give the body more energy, and not the opposite, Dr. D’Agostino once went to the gym after a week-long water fast and deadlifted 500 pounds of weight for 10 reps.

That is how serious Dr. Dominic is about the Keto dieting!

According to the research that he has made, here are some of the reasons why you need to consider doing a ketosis diet:

  • Anti-cancer effects
  • Fat loss and molecular recomposition
  • Maintain or increase physical strength
  • Better use of oxygen
  • Lyme disease

Before this post start sounding as an infomercial let’s get to the point!

The whole point to enter Keto is to make sure that 75 to 85% of your calories that you intake are from fat.

For Breakfast

-4 Eggs (cooked in coconut oil or butter)

-One can of sardines packed in extra virgin olive oil

– A few slices of bacon

– Half a can of oysters

-Asparagus or any other vegetable

Instead of lunch, Dr. D’Agostino would usually consume plenty of MCT oil powder. However you could choose between any of these lunch options:

  • Grilled chicken with cherry tomatoes and lettuce
  • Ground beef with lettuce, avocado and cherry tomatoes
  • Pork Chops with mushrooms, coconut butter and asparagus

As you can see, proteins are fine to be consumed but you should not eat anything more than 100 grams unless you’ve had intense workout the previous day. The lunch needs to always include vegetables because they are the ingredient that are triggering fat burning during ketosis.

The dinner should always be a large salad in which you can add a little bit of chicken, fish or beef. You can also add feta cheese or Parmesan. To make it much healthier you can put spinach and mixed greens together. As far as 80% of the calories that you intake are from fat, you are all good to go.
